Let’s face it, any business requires some kind of investment to start it and run it successfully. Be it money or time, you still need to have some inputs if you want to get some outputs.
Starting your online business offers an opportunity to start with very little or NO MONEY at all! You can start slow and gradually build your business from there until it turns into an online empire.
If you’d like to start without invest any money at all, you’ve got several options.
- Host your business for free and start driving free traffic to it
There are many companies that give you the option to create your website for free, hosted on their servers with their own domain names. Here are 3 examples:
- WordPress (https://wordpress.com/)
- Blogger (https://www.blogger.com/)
- Drupal (http://www.drupal.com/)
Just head over to any of these, open your account and start your own blog. Once you do that, do some basic design and write some content. Of course, you first need to decide what it is that you’re going to sell (what product or service).
Once you have your concept ready, it’s time to start generating some traffic to your new site.
Just open social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube etc. and start posting/tweeting in groups and discussions relevant to your niche and product or service. You can also create accounts in relevant forums and blogs, and put your signature and author bio with a link pointing back to your site. This way, whenever you make a post, everyone will see the link back to your site which can be a great source of free traffic.
- Start your freelancing business
Just head over to fiverr.com or upwork.com and open your profile there. Decide what kind of service you can provide to others. Here are some suggestions:
- Writing website content
- Designing banners and logos
- Editing videos
- Doing voiceovers
- Optimizing website
- Coding and developing, etc.
Everyone has their unique skills and competencies. Find out what yours are, and create your own gigs. Then you can just leave it up to Fiverr or Upwork to find customers for you, or you can actively start promoting your new freelancing business by following the same techniques for free traffic described above.
Last but not least, if you have very little cash to spend, you can get your own domain name and hosting which should cost you less than $100 a year. This way, you can differentiate yourself and make the impression that you are a real company, with a real business.
To conclude – anyone can start their own business online, even if they have $0 money to invest in the beginning. If that sounds appealing to you, what not give it a try?
